Unlock-3 / Exemption from night curfew in the state from August 1

In a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, some critical decisions have been taken for Gujarat following the guidelines issued by the govt of India regarding Unlock 3. As per the decisions made at the meeting, the Chief Minister has announced a complete exemption from night curfew in the state from August 1. Shops in the country will be open till 8 pm as well as the hotel restaurant till 10 pm.


Yoga Center and Gym will be opened from 5th August As per the guidelines and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) of the Central Government. Apart from this, the government will follow the prevailing guidelines of the Central Government for other matters. The meeting was attended by Minister Kaushik Patel, Minister Saurabh Patel, Minister of State Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretary to the house Ministry Sangeeta Singh.


Narendra Somani, President, Hotel, and Restaurant Association of Gujarat has written a letter to the state government to allow hotels and restaurants to operate till 12 noon. The statewide night curfew has been fully lifted, and the restaurant has been granted permission till noon.

Yoga institutes and gymnasiums are going to be allowed to open from August 5, 2020. Standard procedure (SOP) during this regard is going to be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

The spread of Covid-19 must be controlled, and social distance must be observed.
Independence Day programs are going to be allowed to be conducted in compliance with social distance also as other health-related protocols like wearing masks. In this regard, the instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on July 21, 2020, need to be followed.
After extensive discussions with the States and Union Territories, it's been decided that schools, colleges, and training institutes will remain closed till August 31, 2020.
Passengers are going to be allowed international aviation only under limited conditions under the Vande Bharat Mission.



What are the exemptions in Unlock-2?

  • The curfew in Unlock 2 was relaxed for one hour, and the limit was enforced from 10 pm to 5 am, which has come to a complete end in Unlock 3.
  • Decided to allow shops to continue operating until 8 p.m.
  • Hotels and restaurants were also allowed to continue until 9 p.m.

What were the exemptions in Unlock-1?
  • Businesses and restaurants are open until 7 p.m.
  • A curfew was imposed from 9 pm to 5 am
  • ST bus service was started in the entire state including Ahmedabad with 60 percent seating arrangement
  • Allowed all shops to open
  • Offices began with the rules of social distance
  • Permission to open malls, hotels, restaurants
  • Launched city bus service with 50 percent seating across the state including AMTS
  • Two people were allowed to sit on the two-wheeler
  • The rule of 1 + 2 in four-wheelers and 1 + 3 in large four-wheelers were maintained
  • The bank also turned up with full staff across the state, including the content zone
  • Secretariat and government offices fully started
